Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone. I hope 2012 has started on a positive note for you all. We had a very low-key New Year, with a glass of bubbly in front of the TV. It was lovely to chill out and relax.

I've been enjoying reading everyone's year-end round-ups and plans for 2012. I've updated my "Completed projects" tab for 2011 and I'm quite surprised to realise that I managed 6 sewn projects this year and 13 knitted projects. When I think that I've knitted something every month and sewn something every two months, it seems quite respectable, if not hugely productive.

Here are a few of my favourites from 2011. I've worn my Simplicity cardigan a lot because it is easy to throw on over jeans. I've worn my fair isle gloves pretty much every time I've left the house since I finished them! I am also really pleased with my Cranberry cables cardigan and my Senlis cardigan.

In the past I have written lists of things I want to complete but this year I think I'm going to try another approach. I want to focus on quality not quantity. I want to catch the sewing mojo when it appears, to enjoy sewing and create better garments, rather than tick boxes on a list. I hope to spend a bit more time on the blog too as it has been a little neglected this year.

My focus for 2012 is to move forward and improve. You'll have to stay tuned to see how that happens as the year progresses.

  1. Happy New Year!!! I really like the dark blue cardigan. Was that a sewn project?

  2. I have edited the post with links to the actual projects to make it a bit clearer. But to answer your question, yes the dark grey cardigan is sewn - from Simpicity 2560. I used a very lightweight jersey and added a belt for a different look.
