My knitting group have suggested that this year be the year we pick up any WIPs that have been lying around too long, and encourage each other to finish them or frog them. I find that I tend to focus on one project at a time, if I get bored of something I put it away and start something new. Because of that approach I have a few projects stashed in tote bags in the spare room. A quick count-up shows I have a beaded bag, a lace wrap, a 4 ply sweater and a crochet blanket. Ooops.
This week I have been trying my hardest to pick up these projects every so often in an attempt to get them finished. This simple lace wrap has been on the needles for over two years. Gulp. That is a long time.
I got bored of it because the pattern repeat is so simple. I also find I prefer to knit on thinner needles these days - and this pattern uses 8mm to get the lacy effect. Over the weekend I rented a few movies and sat down to knit on it a little. "Hall pass" was ok, "Bridesmaids" was much funnier and it distracted me enough to get some knitting done!

Very pretty lace wrap. I really like the color!
ReplyDeleteThat is something I also really need to tackle, I have more UFO's than finished things, I my problem is I am so easily distracted by the next exciting pattern I struggle to finish the last!
ReplyDeleteThe shawl is really lovely though, well done on persevering with it!!!
...Oh and Happy New Year!! x
